I thought that in this summer filled with superhero action movies and sf blockbusters, my ladies could feel a bit left out, so I decided to bring you HOLLYWOOD SPY's GUIDE THROUGH SUMMER 2011 ROMANTIC FILMS! :) Hope my girls, and

MANDY MOORE & KELLAN LUTZ IN "LOVE, WEDDING, MARRIAGE"

Directorial debut of Dermot Mulroney, LOVE, WEDDING, MARRIAGE premieres June 3rd following Ava (Mandy Moore), a marriage counselor whose life as a newlywed to her husband Charlie (Kellan Lutz) is turned upside down when she discovers her parents’ marriage (James Brolin & Jane Seymour) is headed for divorce. Determined to have them reconcile before a planned 30th anniversary surprise party, Ava unleashes a campaign to get them back together. But as the date looms and her parents relationship continues to spiral to its end, her own newlywed bliss starts to fade when she’s caught up in saving their marriage, possibly at the risk of her own. EWAN MCGREGOR IN HEARTWARMING "BEGGINERS"

Also coming out June 3rd is charming romantic comedy BEGINNERS, about Oliver (Ewan McGregor) who meets the

irreverent and unpredictable Anna only months after his father Hal (Christopher Plummer) has passed away. This new love floods Oliver with memories of his father who, following 44 years of marriage, came out of the closet at age 75 to live a full, energized, and wonderfully tumultuous gay life. The upheavals of Hal's new honesty, by turns funny and moving, brought father and son closer than they'd ever been able to be. Now Oliver endeavors to love Anna with all the bravery, humor, and hope that his father taught him. Click for the trailer.

JENNA FISCHER NEEDS "A LITTLE HELP"

On June 24th, we shall watch A LITTLE HELP,  about Laura (Jenna Fischer) whose life has begun to take some dark and difficult turns. Her marriage to a real estate agent (Chris O’Donnell) has become tense and loveless, she even suspects that

he’s cheating, and her relationship with her 12 year-old son Dennis has become strained as well, his emerging adolescence having turned him typically sullen and hostile. And she is not dealing well with it - she’s drinking and smoking too much, her self-esteem and confidence are in free fall. When her husband suddenly dies  she gets surrounded by her intrusive mother and sister who bring even more problems to her life. In that mess, she finds comfort in her sister's husband and they become drawn to each other in difficult circumstances despite the obvious complications and dangers that this implies. JUSTIN & MILA ARE "FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS"

July 22nd will bring us probably the biggest romantic film this summer FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS. Directed by talented and

super charming Will Gluck (Easy-A) this adorable film revolves around Dylan (Justin Timberlake) and Jamie (Mila Kunis) who think it's going to be easy to add the simple act of sex to their friendship, despite what Hollywood romantic comedies would have them believe. They soon discover, however, that getting physical really does always lead to complications. The film also stars Emma Stone, Patricia Clarkson and Woody Harrelson. Click for the trailer.

SELENA & LEIGHTON GO TO "MONTE CARLO"

July 1st brings two popular teen stars to cinemas in a romantic comedy MONTE CARLO in which young TV stars Selena Gomez and  Leighton Meester are joined by Andie MacDowell and GLEE's Cory Monteith. The film is actually an adaptation of the hit novel "Headhunters" by Jules Bass about about three Midwestern school teachers who ditch a disappointing no-frills holiday in Paris and pose as wealthy women vacationing in Monaco. EPIC DRAMA IN "SNOW FLOWER AND THE SECRET FAN"

On July 15th we shall finally watch opulent epic drama on romance, love and deep friendship in long awaited Asian set film SNOW FLOWER AND THE SECRET FAN by acclaimed director Wayne Wang with Hugh Jackman in the cast.  The movie adaptation of the bestselling novel by Lisa See is set in 19th century remote China, and it revolves around the lifelong friendship of Lily and Snow Flower and their imprisonment by rigid cultural codes of conduct for women. ANNE HATHAWAY'S LOVE IN "ONE DAY"

August will bring us lovely romantic story in ONE DAY, again an adaptation of a hit novel, in which Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess play two people who meet on the night of their college

graduation – July 15th, 1988. She is a working-class girl of principle and ambition who dreams of making the world a better place. He is a wealthy charmer who dreams that the world will be his playground. For the next two decades, every July 15th they meet again as their friendship ebbs and flows with the passing of the years. Through love and loss, heartbreak and success, hopes fulfilled and dreams shattered, they experience the grandeur of life. DAVID FINCHER TO DIRECT ANGELINA JOLIE'S "CLEOPATRA"? ROBERT PATTINSON, JAMES MCAVOY, JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, MICHAEL FASSBENDER, CHRIS PINE, JOAQUIN PHOENIX COULD GET A ROLE IN SF EPIC "AKIRA"

Now, HOLLYWOOD SPY has already informed you that Columbia Pictures is preparing a remake of famous sf blockbuster from the 90's TOTAL RECALL and you also know that Colin Farrell will play the Arnold Schwarzeneger 's role from the original film. According to latest buzz the role of Lori, the naughty wife and a secret spy which Sharon Stone played in the original film, could go to Kate Bosworth or Diane Kruger. The second female role of Melina, the woman who helps the main hero, could go to Eva Mendes or Eva Green or even Jessica Biel. The film is being directed by Len Wiseman.

SHORT HEADLINES *Ian McShane, who amazed us in THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH last year, has joined Nicholas Hoult, Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy and Ewan McGregor in JACK THE GIANT KILLER as King Brahnwell, the father of the princess that Nicholas Hoult as Jack tries to save from the giant. *Even though James Cameron has left the helm of CLEOPATRA with Angelina Jolie, according to latest rumors, Sony now wants David Fincher to direct the epic on famous Egyptian queen. *Elizabeth Perkins has joined Kelsey Grammer and Michael Chiklis in a new CBS sitcom called VINCE UNCENSORED  which will follow a man who decides to take a more honest approach to life after a life-altering experience.

It seems AKIRA, the film adaptation of the famous anime is the most wanted project these days when it comes to casting. The anime was set in a neon-lit futuristic post nuclear war Tokyo in 2019 where a teen biker gang member is subjected to a government experiment which unleashes his latent powers. The gang leader must find a way to stop the ensuing swathe of destruction. In the film, the story will be set in Manhattan. According to "MovieWeb" Robert Pattinson, Andrew Garfield and James McAvoy are all being considered for the role of Tetsuo while the list of actors who could take the role of Kaneda includes Garrett Hedlund, Michael Fassbender, Chris Pine, Justin Timberlake and Joaquin Phoenix.

NEW ROLES FOR ORLANDO BLOOM, RON LIVINGSTON, ADRIEN BRODY, RACHEL MCADAMS, MICHELLE PFEIFFER, CHRIS PINE, KATHY BATES, CHANNING TATUM, TOM HIDDLESTON...

And this is also almost official now: as rumored, Orlando Bloom (who has just become a father few days ago with top model Miranda Kerr) will again play the magnificent and ethereal Elven archer Legolas in Peter Jackson's THE HOBBIT but he will have just a two minute role for which he will apparently get $1 million. Another official addition to THE HOBBIT cast is Christopher Lee who will again play the evil Saruman. Some other Hobbits from the LORD OF THE RINGS might join the cast from the Middle Earth again as well these days.

Ron Livingston (BAND OF BROTHERS, SEX AND THE CITY)has just scored two new gigs: he will appear in TEN YEAR alongside Channing Tatum, Chris Pine, Rosario Dawson, Lynn Collins and John Krasinski. The

film's about a group of friends who reunite ten years after their high-school graduation. He will also star in a very strange film called THE ODD LIFE OF TIMOTHY GREEN in which he and Jennifer Garner will be a childless couple, unable to conceive, who bury all their wishes for a baby in a box in their backyard. One day, they wake up to find that a child is born, but the child is not all that it appears.

SHORT HEADLINES Blake Lively and Emma Watson will compete for the female role beside Taylor Lautner in YA fantasy film INCARCERON.  Anne Hathaway, Keira Knightley and Jessica Biel will all audition for roles in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, but it

seems Eva Green and Naomi Watts are the top contenders for female roles in the new Batman film. Sam Mendes and Daniel Craig have been confirmed for JAMES BOND 23.

Michelle Pfeiffer has joined WELCOME TO PEOPLE, in which she will play the mother of a young businessman (Chris Pine),  who returns home after his estranged father's sudden death only to discover a surprising family secret that he has an older sister (Elizabeth Banks) he never knew about and a young nephew. Olivia Wilde will play Chris Pine's girlfriend.

Although I can't stand him, Woody Allen has got himself a nice cast in MIDNIGHT IN PARIS a romantic comedy that follows a family traveling to the city for business. The party includes a young engaged couple that has their lives transformed throughout the journey. The film celebrates a young man’s great love for Paris, and simultaneously explores the illusion people have that a life different from their own is better. The cast includes: Adrien Brody, Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard, Owen Wilson, Michael Sheen, Kathy Bates, Tom Hiddleston ..
